Shreveport Gets Two More Classic Rock Concerts
This is going to be a jam-packed summer for East Texas classic rock fans. Just when it seems like every band or singer who could possibly be heading out on tour has already announced their plans, another one comes along to add their dates to the crowded concert calendar.
While lots of the upcoming shows will happen in Dallas-area venues, the Louisiana side of our region is also lining up its fair share. Two more giants of the 70's & 80's confirmed their Shreveport-Bossier City performances within the past few days.
Co-founder & long-time front man Dennis DeYoung will bring "The Music Of Styx" to Margaritaville Casino over Memorial Weekend, taking the stage on Saturday night May 27th. One of the perks of being on the radio is getting comped for lots of concerts & I saw this show 4 years ago: Dennis DeYoung can still knock it out of the park as a singer! Tickets are on sale now & if you're a Styx fan, you'll leave happy.
Kansas has been on the road celebrating their "Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour" for several months, but they just added even more stops to take the group completely through 2017, including August 25th at Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium. Although actually their 4th studio album, "Leftoverture" propelled Kansas to rock superstar status thanks to track #1- the iconic "Carry On Wayward Son".
Tickets for this show go on sale Friday, but if the Shreveport date doesn't work for you, make a note Kansas will also be playing in Houston September 30th.
Plan your concert road trips down I-20 accordingly!
