One Texas Pilot Walks Away From a Plane Crash
At least two plane crashes made headlines in Texas this week, and one pilot miraculously walked away. The others weren't so lucky.
Two planes collided in mid-air on New Year's Eve in McKinney, about thirty minutes north of Dallas. Three people died in that crash, and the NTSB is still looking into what caused it. Those investigations take a long time so we may not know what happened for another month or two. A father and his 18-year old son were killed in the crash, along with a 48-year old businessman from Frisco, according to the Dallas Morning News.
There was another plane crash Wednesday in Nacogdoches County, and that pilot was able to walk away. It happened in the area of State Highway 7, and DPS said the pilot had taken off from Longview after just having the plane inspected, and was headed to the Nacogdoches County airport when the engine sputtered and he had to land in some dead trees. He walked away with nothing more than some leg pain.
We'll end on that bit of good news. Safe travels this weekend, and hopefully for the rest of 2017.
