North Texas Pizza Chain Expanding East Into Tyler
I admit it - I'm a pizza snob! It's the combo of being half-Italian & growing up in New Jersey with great pizza joints on almost every corner. I've been in Texas about 20 years now, but can still count on just one hand the pizza places that measure up (in my opinion).
That's why I get extra excited when a new pizza restaurant is about to open - maybe THIS will turn out to be my new #1 (a spot currently occupied by Reale's Italian Cafe' in Austin)!
Palio's Pizza Cafe has been in business over 15 years, with almost 40 locations across the Lone Star State - a couple as far west as Midland & Amarillo, but the vast majority in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The new Tyler restaurant will be at 6611 S. Broadway (just a little bit south of Grande). It's Palio's first outlet in East Texas - Royce City, Rockwall, & Red Oak have been the closest to our area up until now.
A look at the Palio's website will make your mouth start watering, as they describe a commitment to fresh homemade ingredients, including made-from-scratch dough, all-natural sauce, & 100% real mozzarella cheese. The menu showcases more than a dozen gourmet pizza options, & also features salads, sandwiches, & pastas. There are kids choices & desserts too. (I should not have clicked through on an empty stomach!)
Right now Palio's-Tyler is advertising for staff, with no opening date public yet, although they're also inviting people to register for a March Madness contest, with winners announced on April 4th, so it can't be too long before the doors are unlocked & the pizza feasting begins!
