Memorial Day 500 Countdown Playing All Weekend Long

We all love a good “Top 5," or “Top 10 of all Time” list of anything that follows. Memorial Day Weekend within the halls of Classic Rock 96-1, has always been filled with each of our favorites or what we think is the “Best of all Time."

BBQ in someone’s back yard, the Indy 500, NBA playoffs, none of that can equal the atmosphere created by the listener selected 500 Greatest Classic Rock songs of all time we drop on you each year.

Jen Austin started it with Jefferson Starship’s Jane at #500 Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. We will count them down all the way through Monday evening till we find out which career rocker holds the crown for 2019. How many songs from  Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, RUSH, Def Leppard, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, or ZZ Top will you hear within the 500 best?

There are plenty of songs you haven’t heard here for a long time, so take Classic Rock 96-1 along with you all weekend long as we deliver another Memorial Day 500 Countdown that will make for a tremendous weekend soundtrack at the house, the lake, or your family gathering at the state park. Don’t come into this wholeheartedly either, because the soldiers that died protecting our rights to free expression, wouldn’t have wanted any of us to not give our all in whatever we chose to do.
