Beginning Thursday, March 23rd at 12 noon, Tyler residents have another option for transportation services! In addition to the The Taxi Cab Company of Tyler and Uber, the app supported driver service Lyft will begin giving rides that are requested using it's app platform.
Much like Uber, users will be able to request transportation with just a couple of taps from their cell phones, using the Lyft app. Whether requesting a car for yourself, friends or ride sharing, getting around Tyler and parts of East Texas are becoming more convenient. According to KLTV 7, new passengers will receive $5 off their first Lyft ride anywhere utilizing the code LYFTLOVE17.
The company filed the paperwork to operate within Tyler to the Tyler City Manager's office over a week ago according to CBS19 and indicated they would begin operating on March 23rd.
