Weights Discovered During Lake Fork Tournament Weigh-In
According to KETK, a man was arrested this past Sunday in Wood County after metal weights were found in a bass that he presented during the weigh-in for the Lake Fork Lure Co. Tournament.
Game wardens were contacted by tournament organizers to investigate a bass that was flagged while being detected during Sunday’s weigh-in at the Caney Point Recreation Area on Lake Fork in Yantis.
Once organizers were alerted to a foreign object and that was confirmed, game wardens then conducted a necropsy on the fish and found three weights in the bass’ stomach.
The same type of weights were found in the boat of the angler who allegedly submitted the bass for weigh-in.

Angler Facing Felony Charges in Wood County
The grand prize for the tournament was $10,000 and there were more than $84,900 in cash prizes. Due to the prize amounts, the angler identified as Curtis Lee Daniels of Willow Park is now facing a third-degree felony.
His charges include violating fishing tournament law. He was booked into the Wood County Jail and has since been released on a $20,000 bond.
