Witten is back! And while the future Hall of Famer didn't stray too far, just up to the ESPN booth, nor for too long, less than a year, his return will have an immediate impact on the Dallas Cowboys.

"The fire inside of me to compete and play this game is just burning too strong," Witten said in a statement, per the Cowboys' official website. "This team has a great group of rising young stars, and I want to help them make a run at a championship. This was completely my decision, and I am very comfortable with it. I'm looking forward to getting back in the dirt."

The Cowboys made the announcement today on Twitter that he will return in 2019, to play his 16th NFL season. Last year Witten hung it up after 15 seasons as Cowboy. His 1,152 career receptions ranks fourth in NFL history. The Cowboys will reportedly pay him between $3.5 and $5 million depending on who you talk to. Read more about Witten's dramatic return here.
