Did you get the chance to see the "almost" Beaver Moon over Texas last night? The Lone Star landscape was a shimmering silver from Wichita Falls to McAllen and Port Arthur to El Paso—unless, of course, there were clouds or storms. Oh, and by the way, here's the latest on the weather. It's going to be bumpy in parts of the state today. But let's get to Powerball and Lotto Texas with Extra! and Saturday night's drawings.

It was another busy night for the Texas Lottery in Austin and for the Powerball team that handled Saturday's drawing out of Tallahassee, Florida. But before we drop the Powerballs let's look at a homegrown game with a very big jackpot.

Much to my surprise, the Lotto Texas with Extra! game is continuing to grow its jackpot amount. Based on our data from past observations that game usually has made a winner long before the jackpot gets to $30 million. If you weren't aware last night the game's drawing was for $41.25 million and there was no winner.

Here are the numbers for Lotto Texas with Extra:

Our confidant at the Texas Lottery confirmed that the game did not produce a jackpot winner last night, but several nice prizes were awarded. Five tickets from Saturday's game paid out just under $12,000. Another 17 tickets matched the same number scenario as those winners but did not opt for the "Extra!" so their prize was $10,000 less.

The Texas Lottery confirms there were over 20,000 tickets sold for Saturday's Lotto Texas with Extra! game that earned a prize. If you'd like to verify your ticket, which you need to do before you try to cash it, you can do that here.

Now, on to Powerball. The Saturday jackpot for November 16, 2024, was $133.8 million. Here's how that drawing played out:

The Florida Lottery-based Powerball crew confirmed that there were no tickets sold for last night's game that matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot. So, on Monday night, those who choose to play Powerball will have a shot at an estimated $144 million. That's the annuity, the lump sum payment would be $66.2 million.

There was a Match 5 Million winner sold in Georgia otherwise one of the largest single ticket wins in last night's game belongs to a Texas Lottery sold ticket. We do not have point of purchase details for where that ticket was sold but we have confirmed a Texas ticket earned a prize of $250,000 in Saturday's Powerball.

The ticket matched four of five of the white balls and the Powerball. The Power Play option returned a multiplier of "times 5". So a $50,000 win without Power Play is now a quarter of a million-dollar win because of the buyer's decision.

Here are the numbers we saw roll out of the hopper for Saturday, November 16, 2024.

If you think you have a match then please visit the Official Texas Lottery or the Official Powerball Website to verify that match and to confirm what your prize payout will be. And if you're fortunate enough to win a large prize, you'll find details on where to go and what to bring in order to claim that prize.

The next Powerball jackpot drawing on Monday will be worth $144 million. The Lotto Texas with Extra! drawing that same night will be worth $42.25 million and Tuesday's Mega Millions will be worth $420 million. We know, those a pretty tempting prizes but don't let the lure of instant wealth get the best of you.
