(East Texas) Allergy sufferers despise this time of year as trees, bushes, and grasses begin pollinating and turning virtually everything in East Texas a green-yellowish color! I noticed a fine film of green on my truck just in the past couple of days. We will all be washing our cars and trucks more often than we have been lately.

Spring is on our mind, thanks to the extremely mild and warm temperatures; however, spring doesn't officially arrive until Friday, March 20, at 9:46 a.m. Until then, and for some time after, we could still be treated to a cold spell. According to legend, you'll want to hold off planting those spring flowers and some crops until the pecan and mesquite trees start showing their buds and some leaves.

Another sign of spring is the severe weather season. East Texas does have a chance of some showers and thunderstorms this weekend, so some outdoor plans might have to be changed. Just stay weather-aware, and hopefully you won't have to change any plans.

One more thing happening this weekend is the return of Daylight Saving Time, Sunday at 2 a.m.  Yes, you're going to lose an hour of sleep this weekend as we spring those clocks forward when going to bed Saturday night.

Here's a look at what's happening this weekend in East Texas
