Currently, Kroger and Albertsons are working toward finalizing the deal, and the only objections are from the federal government. Trade regulations might require them to offload some Texas stores before they are officially a couple.

Kroger And Albertsons Selling Stores To C&S

To offload the excess, the pair of grocery store giants are going to sell the stores to C&S Wholesale Grocers. You might recognize them better by one of their more popular store brands: Piggly Wiggly.

The big change in Texas will likely be in the number of Albertsons stores here. Texas is Albertson's second biggest market, boasting 44 locations.
