Is this Texas Tradition Out of Control? Homecoming Mums

One thing I've never understood about Homecoming Mums is how they continue to get bigger and bigger. Some mums cover the entire body of the young lady wearing them.

I don't know how this is comfortable, or attractive, but they just keep growing. I'm waiting for one of the popular girls at school, to show up with a simple mum bud, and a lone ribbon attached. Maybe that will inspire a new trend, because something needs to change. Take a look a these extravagant mums!
