iPhone 6 Release Date — Apple Rumored to Unleash Phone in August
The world might be introduced to the latest generation of Apple's iPhone about a month sooner than normal.
Rumors are swirling that the much-anticipated iPhone 6 will be released this August, earlier than the company's normal ritual of putting it for sale in mid- to late-September.
But this could be the year where we see two different sizes of iPhones, and possibly released at different times. The Economic Daily News in Taiwan reports a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be released in August, but a 5.5- or 5.6-inch version will be unveiled in September.
Apple has normally strayed from pushing its iPhone into the realm of much larger screens, an opposite strategy from Samsung and other Android counterparts. The iPhone kept the same screen size (3.5 inches) on the first five generations of phones before giving the iPhone 5 a four-inch screen.
Reports say the iPhone 6 will have a heavy focus on fitness and will feature improved maps and other highlights.
