The GRAMMY Awards have trimmed down the number of trophies they give out from 78 to 109 so starting next year, so some categories will no longer be part of the show. From here on, Best Metal Performance and Best Hard Rock Performance will be one award – Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. On top of that, the gender-defined awards in rock, pop, R&B and country will be a thing of the past as well. More after the jump.

Other changes include the consolidation of the blues, folk and world music albums into one award and the eliminations of Hawaiian, Native American, zydeco and Cajun music categories, which will all now be eligible under the Regional Roots awards.

Can we ban all the Lady Gaga performances while we're at it?

Do you agree with the GRAMMY changes?
