If you are a Dallas Cowboys fan, Sunday night's loss to the Minnesota Vikings hurt. But for folks in Gilmer, they are very happy for the Vikings win. Why? Because Gilmer Buckeye Kris Boyd is in his first year playing for Minnesota. Elwyn Henderson of the Gilmer Mirror got to talk to Kris after the big win over the Cowboys.

Boyd won a state championship at AT&T Stadium with the Buckeyes in 2014. From there, Kris went on to the University of Texas at Austin where he played 4 seasons. Then was drafted in the 7th round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

In the interview above, Kris seems to be enjoying his first year with the Vikings. He's also playing with fellow Longhorn, Holton Hill. He talked about working hard to get to this point and offered some encouragement for the Buckeyes as they start their playoff run.

Keep it up Kris. All of us in East Texas are proud of you and we will be rooting for you.
