So here are the facts from myhighplains.com: a company called Oxitec has received a permit from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to release genetically modified mosquitoes in Texas and Florida. There hope is the modified male mosquitoes will mate with the female mosquitoes, which are the ones that carry the dengue, chikungunya, and yellow fevers along with the Zika virus, but the offspring end up dying, reducing the risk of catching these fevers and virus.

I'm sure their hearts are in the right place but I do not like this at all. I can see this not working and we end up with steroid infused flying insects like in Family Guy.
