Some of the cheapest gas in the country is right here in Texas. Under two bucks a gallon is nice, but it's creeping up on us now.

It only went up three cents per gallon, but Triple A Texas says the average gas price did shoot up last week to $1.97. The national average is $2.21 per gallon, and it's states like New York, California, and Hawaii that are driving up the average.

The South has cheap gas, and Beaumont and Houston have the cheapest gas in Texas at $1.93 per gallon.

I found cheaper gas than that for you on Some of the prices there around Tyler and Longview are in the $1.80s.

With relatively cheap gas right now, and those prices expected to hold for several weeks, we don't have to be stressed about the drive to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving.

Well, not stressed about the cost of getting there anyway. Relatives might stress us out when we get there, but at least we'll have the gas savings to spend on an extra pumpkin-flavored beer or glass of wine.
