The call to end racism and police brutality rang through East Texas as the Tyler Chapter of the NAACP held a press conference downtown Tyler on the Square.

The press conference lead by President Cedrick L.Grandberry Sr. discussed the importance of the NAACP, addressing the issues of systemic racism and offering solutions on how to end it.

The death of George Floyd which gained National attention and the Tyler NAACP made a call to challenge East Texans to start the conversation and get involved to fight for equality.

Pastor Battles lead the press conference in prayer followed by a powerful speech from Ashley Amie, and Vice President Joe Turner Sr. spoke on criminal justice.

Many dignitaries were on hand from ministers, elected officials including Tyler Mayor Martin Heines, and even 107.3 KISS FM's Market Manager Carleen Dark, and Director of Sales Brent Lyon were in attendance to support.

After the press conference there was a peaceful protest of different ethnic backgrounds downtown denouncing racism, and police brutality in Tyler.

I am very proud of my city and community for letting our voices be heard!  Let's not let up there is still work to be done and 107.3 KISS FM will be there leading the charge.
