We know that Texas has thousands of restaurants to choose from, you can get just about any type of food at any time of the day. It’s a glorious thing and one that we should appreciate. Obviously, one of the most popular types of food in Texas is Mexican food and Tex-Mex. With 64 locations in Texas, Freebirds World Burrito knows how to make some quick and delicious meals. But you might not know that they have a new owner.

You shouldn’t worry too much about any big changes going on, because the larger company that bought Freebirds knows how to run restaurants. According to WFAA, the North Texas based restaurant group Sun Holdings is the one who bought Freebirds. No word on the price agreed upon for all 64 locations. Freebirds moved their company headquarters to Texas from California in 2015.

Freebirds New Owners Operate Over 1,500 Restaurants

Sun Holdings operates in 27 states with over 1,500 restaurants and stores including Applebee’s, Arby’s, Burger King, Golden Corral, IHOP, McAlister’s, Papa John’s, Popeye’s and Taco Bueno. I’d say they know how to run some restaurants with that big of a portfolio.

Bring on the Burritos

So far the plan is to innovate the menu and grow the stores, nothing we need to worry about with the new owners taking control. It will be interesting to see if the menu changes and if we see any other big differences but hopefully they see growth because their burritos are pretty good, we want them sticking around for a while.

Looking through these celebrity-owned restaurants in Texas, there are at least 3 that I can't WAIT to try. But that's mostly because the food sounds amazing.

I've yet to visit Turkey Leg Hut, but it's definitely gotta following. I'm not sure that I'm in a space where I'd be willing to fork over $100 for turkey legs before even sitting down, but obliviously there are people who are fine with it. I doubt any establishment would keep doing something like this if they were losing business over it.

But first , before you answer, check out pics of their mouth-watering pics, may influence your decision. Let us know.
