For the first time since 20-year-old Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen went missing 2 months ago today (June 22), Fort Hood has now released a statement in the form of a video in what officials are calling a new push to bring Vanessa home.

"We want to bring Vanessa home as efficiently and as rapidly as possible. And towards that end, I'm asking for your assistance," Efflandt said. "We need to bring Vanessa back to her Army family and to bring her back to her family, and we won't stop this effort until we're successful."

Effalandt goes on to say that "somebody, some person out there has the piece of information we need to bring Vanessa home."

We've been following this story since April when Vanessa was first reported missing from the base. She was last seen working in the armory for her shift, when investigators say her car keys, barracks room key, ID and wallet were found. Vanessa hasn't been seen since.

Vanessa's case has also been followed by Houston-area news outlets being that Vanessa is a native Houstonian. According to KTRK, the Guillen family's attorney Natalie Khawam, said she's discovered at least two alleged incidents of sexual harassment -- a superior walking in while Vanessa was showering and another verbally assaulting her with vulgar remarks in Spanish.

Khawam says Vanessa told her family that she was afraid to report the harassment due to fear of retaliation.

Anyone with information about Vanessa Guillen is urged to call 254-495-7767.

Fort Hood is continuing to work with the family of Private Gregory Morales, whose skeletal remains were found near the base on Friday. He'd been missing since August 2019.

Officials say foul play is suspected in Morales' death.
