Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl to Be Featured in ‘Teachers Rock’ TV Special
When you’re on summer vacation from school, your teachers are probably the last thing you want to think about, but come Aug. 18, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will join some other famous faces to pay tribute to educators in the new CBS special ‘Teachers Rock.’
Grohl, who’s also been busy in front of the cameras with his upcoming ‘Sound City’ documentary, will play an unspecified part in the special, which will also include appearances by Jack Black, Adam Levine, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis and Morgan Freeman, all of whom will share their memories of teachers who made a difference in their lives.
The show will also feature musical performances, and while it’s unclear whether Grohl will be one of them, we do know the program will include songs by Carrie Underwood and Josh Groban.
Aside from serving as a tribute to teachers, ‘Teachers Rock’ will also help raise funds for three charities: DonorsChoose.org, Feeding America and Teach for America. It’s set to air at 8PM ET on Aug. 18.
