Enough practicing, strategizing, and diagramming, it's time for games!  High school football is back this weekend and every team is ready for a fresh start.  Check out the schedule here and go cheer on your favorite East Texas team.

The Hughes Spring-Arp game was canceled earlier this week due to COVID-19, and at last check, Arp was attempting to find a replacement game.  Tyler Bishop Gorman at Houston Northland was also canceled, along with the Palmer at Kemp game.  Schedule changes may be part of the process, but at least we've got a season.

High school football games are a blast, and this is where you can catch your favorite team this weekend.

On Saturday, August 28th, Longview will have a huge opportunity when they play against Denton Ryan in the Jerry Jones Classic at The Star, Frisco.  The kickoff is at 2 pm, so if you leave by 11 am you'll be there in time to have a snack and a beverage before the game starts.

The atmosphere at a high school football game is so much fun, isn't it?  You know there are some budding superstars on the field, and it's fun to watch them emerge.  And the band!  The drums and trumpets are not part of NFL games, which makes high school games superior in some ways.  Oh, and the parents.  Sometimes it's fun to watch mom and dad squirming and grunting in the stands trying to help their sons get that extra yard. They are the ultimate supporters.

Any predictions yet for a state champ?  We might have a better one after this weekend.
