(KNUE-FM) They are one of the most well-known and respected groups of cheerleaders anywhere in the world, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. For decades, they have set the standard for cheerleaders in the NFL the high kicks and choreography they perform are second to none.

These ladies work extremely hard and stay in top physical shape to perform all the stunts. That's why when I found photos of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders dating back to the 1960s, I wanted to make sure you saw them too.

Most people don't understand how much time and effort goes into becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader; it's not an easy process. And if you make the team you will continue to work hard as an ambassador for the team. It's an honor to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader but it doesn't come easy.

The Early Years: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in the 1960s

Obviously, one of the first things you will notice with the photos below is how the first few years were all in black and white photos. It was also interesting to me the size of the cheer team as it was only a few in the first couple of years and now there are dozens of cheerleaders wearing the Cowboys logo for each game.
