Local universities and schools are announcing closures and delays regarding their Spring Break schedules. See below the listings of announcements so far according to KLTV:

TJC to extend spring break through March 20

Texas A&M Commerce suspending face-to-face classes, transitioning online amid COVID-19 concerns

Kilgore College will extend spring break through next week, March 16 to March 20. Afterward, classes will resume remotely through the end of the spring 2020 semester.

Other Texas universities:

Spring break extended as UT Austin implements social distancing. Classes will resume on campus on Monday, March 30

Nacogdoches ISD announces plans to extend spring break

Brook Hill School delays return from spring break due to COVID-19

Trinity ISD extends school district’s spring break until March 20

Mineola ISD is monitoring the situation for one more day. They will make an announcement on Friday at noon.

Martinsville ISD extending spring break two days for staff and three days for students.

Kemp ISD in Henderson County cancelled classes for Friday March 13

Hallsville ISD schools will be closed from March 16, 2020 through March 27, 2020.

According to Eric Carpenter, Superintendent of Big Sandy ISD, the schools there will remain closed through March 20th.

Henderson ISD will extend its spring break by 5 days for staff and 6 days for students. For now, HISD teachers and staff should plan on returning to work on Monday, March 23, and students will return to school on Tuesday, March 24.

In the interest of the health and safety of students and staff, all Longview ISD campuses and offices will remain closed through March 27. Classes are tentatively scheduled to resume March 30

Spring Hill ISD will remain closed through March 27. Read the statement here.

White Oak ISD will remain closed through March 27 due to the coronavirus pandemic. All school events, UIL activities and trips will be suspended during that time. Read the statement here.

Longview Christian School has canceled classes and extracurricular activities through March 22.

 Pine Tree ISD has canceled classes and all school events until March 30 due to the spread of the new coronavirus. More information is here.

Grapeland ISD will remain closed through March 20.

Latexo ISD will remain closed through March 20. Teachers are expected to report to school March 17 unless developments arise that require a new plan.

Crockett ISD will remain closed through March 20.

Troup ISD will remain closed until March 20.

Ore City ISD will remain closed through March 20, then will reevaluate

New Summerfield ISD will remain closed through March 20, and will assess again at the end of the week.

King’s Academy in Tyler will be closed through March 20.

Leverett’s Chapel ISD will be extending its spring break until March 20. Staff and students will return on Monday, March 23.

Jacksonville ISD will be closed at least a week starting on Monday, March 16. Administrators will continue to monitor the situation and reassess each week. During this period, lunch will still be available for students under the age of 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Side Elementary on every weekday.

Hawkins ISD will be closed until at least March 20, and the school district’s leadership will re-evaluate the situation at that point.

Arp ISD will be closed through Friday, March 20. All after-school care, extracurricular activities, and field trips have been canceled.

West Rusk has decided to cancel classes through March 20.

Whitehouse ISD extends spring break through March 20
