A story surfaced after the tragic events in Las Vegas of a CBS network vice president and senior counsel, Hayley Geftman-Gold, being fired for inappropriate comments she made about the victims according to Fox News.

She is said to have commented in a Facebook discussion:

If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.

Conveniently, that post has now been deleted.

The company made quick moves to distance themselves from the comments, according to LA Times:

This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families.

Yes, I'm a little skeptical about the validity of this story but it also goes to show how ridiculous our country has become.

Me personally, I have always hated politics. But, over the last several years, it seems, a person can't do or say anything without it being politically motivated. Even writing this article will be construed as political.

I guess it is in a sense.

I'm just sick and tired of the bickering over which side is right and which side is wrong. Not even a full 24 hours had passed before she allegedly posted that horribly insensitive statement. Republican, Democrat, or whatever - these are people.

Here's the answer. Neither are 100% right or 100% wrong. The fact that our representatives in Washington can't truly put aside their differences and truly compromise angers me.

And it has filtered down to us.

"All we need is love" is constantly being thrown around. And that's true. But love only goes so far. For America to get back on track, there needs to be less shouting from the rooftops about beliefs and more sitting at a table and coming to a solution.

There are always two sides to every issue. But the solution to said issue is not going to be 100% one side or the other.

Each side must agree to give up something so a truly desirable solution can be found.

Our world is not perfect and never will be. There will always be hate, there will always be extremists, there will always be uncertainty. And just because you like or don't like something doesn't mean I have to do the same. We are all different and that's great.

Somewhere along the way, we have forgotten this.
