Well, it was inevitable. We are starting to see burn bans pop up as the days get hotter with no rain in sight.

According to the Harrison County Judge, an increased danger of wildfires exist due to the conditions, causing a burn ban enacted in Harrison County.

The Gregg County Sheriff took to social media as well, asking residents to refrain from outdoor burning due to the dry weather. There is no burn ban in effect for Gregg County.

On Tuesday, July 3, Rusk and Henderson counties implemented burn bans due to the increased fire dangers.

According to our media partner KLTV, the weather is changing, so the likelihood of this burn ban remaining in place is slim. Rain chances will increase Tuesday night, leading to a wet July 4 for most.

No severe weather is expected, but Deep East Texas will see most of the activity. Rain will continue throughout the week and temperatures will cool down.
