89-Year-Old Home is Tyler, Texas is Beyond Terrific
Just yesterday I was driving to a meeting in Tyler, Texas and as I was going through the Azalea District, I was reminded of how beautiful some of the older homes are in downtown Tyler. Let’s be honest, there are gorgeous older homes all over East Texas but some really spectacular ones located in Tyler like this one I found that is currently for sale on Troup Hwy.
When I first saw the listing, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that this home is 89-years-old because it is in such great shape, obviously the previous owners took great care of this place. The exact address is 801 Troup Hwy in Tyler, TX 75701. It was built in 1933, and hasn’t been on the market for very long. Currently the asking price is $2,500,000 which is a lot of money but as you learn more about the house and look at the photos below you will see why that asking price doesn’t seem so absurd.
The Home Was Owned by a Texas State Senator
The home was owned by Thomas G. and Edna Pollard and built by Shirley Simmons Sr. The home is 4 bedrooms, 4 ½ bathrooms, 5,134 square feet and sits on 4.05 acres of land. The property is recognized by the Smithsonian Institute for having one of the largest private, secured and continuing gardens in the Tyler area.
Lots of Upgrades to This Terrific Tyler Home
