Are you coming to Rock the Square in Downtown Tyler on Saturday, October 15th? If so, please read this!

We answer a lot of important questions regarding Rock the Square right here, so if you were wondering about chairs, money, parking, etc., we take care of all of that right here.

Will there be tickets sold at the gate?
Yes! Ticket prices do go up to $30 at the gate, but there will be tickets for sale. We will accept cash or credit/debit cards.

What about tickets for kids?
Tickets for kids must be purchased at the gate. Tickets are $10 for kids ages 5 to 12, and 5 and under will be admitted free.

My tickets are on my phone. Can you scan them from there?
Yep!

Where do we park?
We recommend parking at the new Fair Plaza Parking Garage at the corner of Broadway Ave. and Elm St. Parking is free in the garage on the weekend, and it’s just a short walk from the gate. If the lot is full, there are plenty of lots around downtown where you can find a spot. Public spots are free on the weekends, but if you park at a business, we can’t guarantee they won’t charge.

What time do the gates open?
We’ll start letting folks in at 1 p.m.

Where do we enter?
The entrance will be at the intersection of Broadway Ave. and Erwin St.

Can we bring lawn chairs and/or blankets with us?
Yes! We will have areas for seating throughout the event, but you are welcome to bring portable chairs with you.

NOTE: Lawn chairs will NOT be allowed in the VIP area directly in front of the stage. This area is standing room only in order to give every VIP ticket-holder the chance to be up front. There will be a seating area for VIPs in front of the Bank of America building. This will be strictly enforced by security during the festival.

What items are PROHIBITED from being brought into the event?
Outside food or drinks, and no pets (service animals are welcome, of course).

What’s the music schedule?
We’ll have live music playing all day during Rock the Square. Stephen Pearcy will take the stage at 5:30 p.m., Foghat at 7:00 pm., and Blue Oyster Cult will go on at 8:30 p.m.

We will also have a local rock and roll band, “Workin On It” performing under the seating tent from 3:00 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. and in between sets. Their info can be found below: https://www.facebook.com/workinonitband/?fref=ts

How will beer sales work?
We will have beer ticket tents where you can purchase tickets to trade for beer. The beer ticket tents will accept cash or credit/debit cards. Beers will be $4.

Do you have a warning for minors?
Probably not a “frequently asked” question, but we’ve gotta say it. Since alcohol will be served at this event, everyone will be asked to show identification to prove age at the front gate and the beer ticket tent. Minors will be given a special wristband and will be stamped as a minor on their hand. Attendees 21 or older also will have a special wrist band. A minor or any person not wearing a wristband seen consuming alcohol will be escorted out of the festival. And while wristbands will be given before you are able to go to the bar, bartenders can and will ask to double-check your identification to prove your age.

What if it rains?
Rock the Square will go on, rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, festival officials will work closely with police and band management to ensure maximum safety. Canceled or delayed performances will only occur during severe weather situations. Refunds will not be issued.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a shout right here. We’ll get back to you ASAP.
