Believe me, I know it's hard to fathom discussing anything Valentine's Day-related. However, time does fly, no? Plus, I know this is one of those special events we need to put on our calendars ahead of time and plan accordingly.

I love that our East Texas cities host events like these. It's so easy to let special days flow by in the "busy-ness" of our everyday lives. However, it's deciding to make a day special, with intent, that make the memories we so cherish when we reflect back.

So, Moms and Dads, Aunts and Uncles, make plans now to attend the annual Mother-Son and Daddy-Daughter Valentine's Dance(s) at the Glass Recreation Center in Tyler. Enjoy refreshments, a live DJ, and, if you'd like, purchase a professional photography package to further celebrate and remember this special event. Dress is semi-formal for all the dances.

The Mother-Son dance is set for  Friday, February 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for boys aged 4 to 13 years old. The following evening, Saturday, February 9, there will be two Daddy-Daughter dances. The first one is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for girls aged 4 to 8, and the second one is for girls aged 9 to 13, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Tyler Parks & Recreation department, tickets are limited so it is recommended to purchase them in advance, for which there is a discount. There are a few VIP tickets available, too. More details are available at the Tyler Parks and Rec website. You may also call the Glass Recreation Center at (903) 595-7271.
