Seattle Seahawks to Trade Tyler’s Matt Flynn to Oakland Raiders
Former Tyler Lee and LSU quarterback Matt Flynn is set to be traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Oakland Raiders, according to a report on ESPN.com.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the two teams have agreed on a deal that would send the East Texas native to Oakland. The Raiders will give two draft picks — one in the 2014 draft and a conditional pick in 2015 — for Flynn.
Flynn proved he was set for a promising career while backing up Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Seattle jumped on the chance last season when he was a free agent, signing Flynn to a contract. But, the Seahawks also drafted Russell Wilson, who beat out Flynn for the starting job and led Seattle to the NFC Championship game.
Flynn, who will make $5.25 million in base salary this season, looks set to become the starting quarterback for Oakland, as the Raiders are looking to finalize a deal to send quarterback Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals.
All our luck to Matt, who looks to finally be getting his chance in the show.
