I guess there's nothing better in life than a good belly rub if you're a dog, or maybe unlimited treats would be nice. That's just one of the things that Buckwheat really enjoys - a good belly rub!

Buckwheat is our Pet Of The Week and he is currently available for adoption from The Humane Society's Pets Fur People in Tyler, Texas.

Buckwheat has yet to meet a stranger. This terrier/retriever mix is all about everyone's best pal. He's always got a smile on his face to go along with his built-in goatee. This is one happy boy because that furry tail of his is always whipping around.

This golden/blonde guy is a little more than two years old and is eager to find his fur-ever home and learn some new things. He's a smart one, Buckwheat can shake hands and could easily be house-trained. Pets Fur People's executive director Gayle Helms believes he'll fit right into any household because of his gentle disposition.

He's a larger-sized dog that enjoys the company of other dogs and is pretty energetic.

Buckwheat will go home with a starter kit of food, a collar and leash, and a big fluffy bed.  For additional information on adopting Buckwheat call 903.597.2471 or check the Humane Society’s Pets Fur People website. Pets Fur People requires a completed adoption application before arranging a meet and greet.

Check out the animals that are available for adoption. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 am until 5 pm - closed for lunch 1-2 pm. The Humane Society’s Pets Fur People is the only brick-and-mortar no-kill shelter in East Texas. Pets Fur People offers routine vaccinations, except for rabies, to the public for dogs and cats. Follow Pets Fur People on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please be a responsible pet owner - spay or neuter your pets. Donations are appreciated.
