Enrique Iglesias, Plain White T's, Sara Bareilles, Linkin Park and more have submitted new unreleased songs to a Music For Relief album, the proceeds of which aid Japan. Other artists on the Music For Relief compilation include Angels & Airwaves, Counting Crows, Hoobastank, Staind, Slash, Elliott Yamin and more. The compilation disc can be downloaded at DownloadToDonate.org for a donation of ten dollars or more, with all proceeds supporting Save the Children’s emergency response efforts to the multiple disasters in Japan.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be directed to Save the Children for the duration of the campaign, which runs through May 11th. Several participating artists have direct ties to Japan including Mike Shinoda, co-lead vocalist of Linkin Park, and Doug Robb of Hoobastank, who are both of Japanese decent.

Linkin Park created Music For Relief in 2005 to raise money for those affected by natural disasters. They have helped raise over 3.5 million dollars to date.

STATEMENT: Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda released the following statement: “The people of Japan - especially the children - will need our help for many weeks and months to come. We are proud to partner with Save the Children, which has decades of experience in helping children and families impacted by disaster.”
