Gilbert Gottfried Apologizes For Tweets

Comedy Central Roast Of David Hasselhoff - Show

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried was fired as the voice of the Aflac duck after writing several insensitive tweets about the events in Japan. He has since deleted those statements. Aflac insurance gets about 75 percent of their revenue from Japan so it’s no wonder they took such quick action. Mashable.com has more and you can follow Gilbert at Twitter.com/RealGilbert.

* SOME OF THE DELETED TWEETS!

“Japan called me. They said, ‘Maybe those jokes are a hit in the U-S, but over here, they’re all sinking.’”

“I was talking to my Japanese real estate agent. I said ‘Is there a school in this area?’ She said, ‘Not now, but just wait.’”

Do you think Aflac was justified in firing Gilbert?
