The Spring And Summer Festival And Concert Seasons Are Approaching But The Scammers Are Getting Busy From Houston To Tyler.

Lots of big events are approaching in Texas from the big Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show (also known as RodeoHouston) which kicks off this week to the upcoming Red Dirt BBQ & Music Fest in Tyler in a couple of weeks.

But police are warning folks to be careful about where they purchase tickets from as scammers are on the loose once again.

A Harris County Constable said he's received several calls of people selling fake rodeo tickets online.

Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen recently told KHOU that his office has seen in increase in complaints and calls about scammers selling fake tickets online.

The main source: social media. When you purchase something via social media or a website other than the one hosted by event promoters, those purchases can’t be validated.

For starters, pay attention to the "account" that's offering you the tickets. Brand new social media accounts that just started two days ago or three days ago yet they're selling tickets to something, it's highly probable that it's a scam according to police.

Also, in the coming days, you'll see "scammers" on our social media channels claiming to have brought tickets to our upcoming Red Dirt BBQ & Music Fest here in Tyler and pretending that they are putting tickets up for sale and will ask you to "pm me or dm me".

Chances are VERY HIGH these are scammers with fake accounts looking to scam you out of your money. Buy tickets directly from the source or someone you know in REAL LIFE.
