Batters wear helmets to protect their heads, but this pitch hit the cheek instead.  Corpus Christi Hooks player Delino Deshields Jr. was hit in the face by a 90-mile-per-hour pitch over the weekend in a game against the Frisco Roughriders, just north of Dallas.

Even the Today Show has been talking about it.  Ouch!

Deshields was a first round pick of the Houston Astros.  We hope he recovers and makes it all the way to the majors soon.
