Jen Austin

I've been on the air in East Texas since 1999, and in radio for my whole adult life. I've been single, married, and single again, and weeding through the dating apps as a single mom of three girls is quite the adventure. It all leads to one fun and embarrassing story after another for the radio show. We chat about fitness and exercise, relationships, and workplace experiences, pop culture news, kids, and things that bother us and make us laugh and bawl our eyes out too. Faith, fitness, and family are really important to me, and I love shopping and sports too. My daughters crack me up and ask odd questions and challenge me, and you'll hear me talking about wild parental adventures with them too. Life is full and a little nuts, so let's hang out and do it together. It's better with friends, and sometimes vodka.

Texas Teams Aren’t MLB’s Most Valuable
The Rangers and Astros don't crack the Top Ten on the Forbes' list of Major League Baseball's most valuable franchises, but that doesn't seem to bother Texans one bit. In fact, we kinda rebel against the richest teams, don't we?

Can You Get in Trouble for Picking a Bluebonnet?
My kids asked me yesterday if they would get thrown into jail for plucking a bluebonnet, so I decided to do my duty as a parent and research that pressing question. Is it illegal to pick bluebonnet in Texas?

East Texas Gusher Days are Coming to Gladewater
It's festival season in East Texas, and it's high time we enter some chili cook-offs, check out some car shows, ride some carnival rides, and eat some food on a stick. If we hop in the car on any given weekend, it's likely we can roll into festival somewhere, and Gladewater has a good…

Texas Has One of the Toughest Toll Roads in the Nation
If you don't pay the tolls you owe in Texas, you could be in big trouble. But there's ones state that's tougher on those who don't pay up, and in that state you can be convicted of a felony for having outstanding tolls. Toll roads have had it! And here's what you need to …

Most Texans Don’t Carry Cash
It was fun while it lasted, but finding that surprise 5-dollar bill in the pocket of some old jeans is becoming more rare. Lots of Texans are opting not to carry any cash at all, and if we do have paper money in our wallets it's probably less than $25
