ZZ TOP: “That Little Ole Band From Texas” Premiers August 13th
Abramorama and Eagle Rock Entertainment announced yesterday that the Banger Films Documentary Feature film about the Houston based rock legends ZZ Top and how they took the nation by storm will premiere in Hollywood, California August 13th with what they call "timed event screenings corresponding with the 50th Anniversary Tour" afterwards.Tyler native Robin Hood Brians who furnished studios in Tyler for the first four ZZ Top albums is planning on attending that premiere in Hollywood.
The film will also be premiering at Cineplex Cinema's throughout Canada starting August 23rd as well as Australia beginning September 1st.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock.com, Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard — became one of the biggest, most beloved bands on the planet, all while maintaining a surrealist mystique that continues to intrigue fans and entice onlookers a half century after the band's inception. All three band members will be in attendance at the premiere, as they prepare to embark on their "50th Anniversary Tour" which will begin 3 days after the premiere.
“I think even our most steadfast fans will find themselves surprised by what they learn about those men behind the beards and cheap sunglasses," Gibbons said. "There we are, up there on the silver screen and it's something we're delighted to share with fans of all stripes.”
The trio’s anniversary tour starts in Ridgfield, Wash., on Aug. 16 and ends on Nov. 9 in Shreveport, La., with Cheap Trick providing main support.
