Texas Thieves Arrested For $57,000 Worth of Underwear
Taking items without paying for them is not cool, it drives up prices for everyone else, and in Texas there are some serious consequences if you’re caught. As four Texas residents are about to find out after they were caught with thousands of pieces of stolen merchandise, which were mostly bra’s, underwear, and lingerie from Victoria's Secret.
Who Was Arrested for Stealing Victoria Secret Merchandise?
According to My San Antonio, The Austin Police Department have arrested 20-year-old Sofia Hernandez, 24-year-old Angelica Chavez, 37-year-old Joe Garcia, and 30-year-old Lisa Vasquez on theft charges. All of which will be facing multiple felony counts of theft.
Victoria’s Secret Has a “Organized Retail Crime Investigator”
You might not realize but the lingerie, clothing, and beauty retailer is a billion-dollar brand. So, it’s not shocking to see that they work diligently to keep theft rates low.
After more than a dozen high-value thefts, the company’s Organized Retail Crime Investigator got involved with law enforcement and identified three people they believed were behind the crimes.
Where Did Police Find All the Stolen Victoria’s Secret Merchandise?
After the suspects were identified law enforcement executed search warrants on two homes where they discovered 2,000 pieces of stolen retail merchandise.
The items were taken from over 40 different retailers and had a total value of $57,000. There was also a stolen handgun that was recovered during the execution of the search warrants.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
