(KNUE-FM) It’s amazing how fast another year is flying by here in Texas. It won’t be long until we are sending packages to friends and family around the holidays. Although it seems like there is always a box to return or something that needs to be mailed for a birthday or whatever the circumstance might be, even if it’s not holiday time.
However, you need to be cautious about what you include in the mail, as there are specific items that are prohibited by the United States Postal Service.
While I am not a postal worker, one of the most aggravating things is being at the post office and being told that your package cannot be sent.
I’ve actually seen people start crying around the holidays as the stress of shipping things can become overwhelming, which is why it’s so important to know the rules, so you’re not caught in a tough situation where you have to repackage the items you’re trying to send.

Difficult But Not Illegal to Mail
There are items such as guns or ammunition, alcohol, or tobacco products where this becomes difficult not illegal.
These items are allowed through the mail but there are specific directions you must follow, you might want to ask a USPS employee if you’re planning on mailing any questionable items.
