What if Classic Horror Flick ‘The Thing’ Was a Musical? [VIDEO]

Would Jon Carpenter’s 1982 horror classic ‘The Thing‘ be any less creepy if it had been a musical? Lyrical geniuses Jon and Al Kaplan have injected some rhythm into the Kurt Russell-starring sci-fi flick, mixing the original footage with a Sinatra-esque musical number.

It features such soon-to-be-classic lyrics as “Don’t mind me / I’m only a husky” and “Big surprise, I’m not Palmer / I’m the Thing, from another world, baby.”

The clip is just in time for a prequel to the film, which opens in theaters this weekend. Will it be as scary as the original? And more importantly, will someone do a musical remix?
