Texas Woman Found Dead in Woods; Boyfriend Admits Guilt
Polk County, Texas - 24-year-old DeAndre Shermail Wright pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend, Jasmine Muldoon, and then hiding her body in the woods near their home.
Muldoon's body was discovered the day after she was reported missing back in May of 2024. She was found wrapped in a bed sheet and covered by tree limbs and branches.
The District Attorney's office confirmed she died from a stab wound and tragically left behind four children.
The State and the defendant could not reach a sentencing deal, and eventually agreed to a term of 50 years confinement in TDCJ in exchange for Wright's guilty plea, due to the "emotional impact to the family of a trial."
The Polk County District Attorney's Office as well as the family of the late Jasmine Muldoon have expressed to the public that domestic violence is not "acceptable behavior" and have urged anyone trapped in a violent relationship to reach out to their local law enforcement agency for help.
