Texas Unique New Concept For ‘Drinking’ That We Need Everywhere
Do you ever see a new concept and kick yourself for not thinking of it first? That's how I feel after I read about Sipple, a Houston-based store that has a huge variety of non-alcoholic beverages, but no actual booze. I'm not talking about soda, but beverages like wines, beers, and cocktails that are actually mocktails. It's for sober grown-ups.
There are so many reasons to be sober or near sober, even if you are not an alcoholic. I am virtually sober myself, simply because I don't like to pack on the calories after a hangover meal. I'm not in my 20s anymore, so getting toasted is more trouble than it's worth.
That being said, I have beautiful, wonderful friends who are alcoholics and it breaks my heart every time they feel ostracised because they are living the way they need to: alcohol-free. I am beyond proud of anyone who has chosen to save their own life by committing to be sober. Seriously, if this sounds like you, I want you to know that I am so very, very proud of you.
So this is where Sipple comes in, and I have the feeling and hope that they will be expanding like crazy. Imagine not having to hunt for the measly, pathetic non-alcoholic section in a sea of alcoholic drinks. Imagine getting to try all those amazing flavors without any guilt or fear. That's so lovely.
In addition to having exciting flavors, many of the available options also contain good-for-you supplements, as reported by Texas Monthly:
For a former boozer like me (I gave up alcohol more than ten years ago), Sipple is like a candy store. The chic labels and exotic flavors are at once familiar and entirely novel, touting supplements like “nootropics” and “adaptogens.”
I can't wait to see Sipple's success all over Texas, and everywhere else.
