Texas’ 2024 Fall Season Is Predicted To Be Unusually Warm And Wet
Texas' summer will, technically, be coming to an end in about a month with the start of fall on September 22. However, if I were you, I wouldn't expect the heat associated with summer to disappear.
As Texans, we know that the fall months start off pretty warm -- It especially felt that way last year with very high temperatures well into September. For this year, I don't know that it'll be much better, or so says The Old Farmers' Almanac.
What does the Farmers' Almanac have to say for Fall 2024?
According to the Almanac, this fall is predicted to be, "warmer-than-normal." On top of the predicted heat, Texas is anticipated to have above-average precipitation.
Take this information as you will, this is the Old Farmers' Alamnac after all. But I will say, this summer was predicted to but "sizzling and soaked," and that seemed to be fairly accurate throughout the start of the season.
What is The Old Farmer's Almanac, you ask?
According to the Austin-American Statesman, The Old Farmers Almanac has been predicting weather since 1818. The accuracy of the reports has varied throughout the years, but some people still choose to use them as a source. I'll admit to checking out their seasonal predictions, but I don't think I would put too much faith into The Almanac.
I will say that there are times that The Almanac predictions come in pretty close.
Whatever the weather will be, I'm ready for fall
Whether it's a little warmer than normal or not this fall, I'm still ready for the season. I'll start sipping on my hot pumpkin-spice lattes, dressing in my flannel pajamas, and visiting pumpkin patches regardless of the weather.
While cooler temperatures would be nice, it's the smell in the air, the changing of trees, and an overall feeling that really makes the fall season superior.
