Watch Texas Armadillos Trying to Stay Cool in the Heat
For anyone who has spent time in Texas, you’ve probably come across an armadillo. They are nothing to be afraid of, although they can catch you off guard if you’re not expecting to see one. It’s amazing how many you see that are running across the interstates here in Texas, be careful when you’re driving. But recently there were some armadillo siblings that were caught on video at a Texas State Park that I wanted to share with you.
The video was taken at Inks Lake State Park in Burnet, Texas, a little over an hour northwest of Austin, Texas. Located in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country this area is popular for tourists and locals just wanting to relax. But it seems like the armadillos realize how beautiful the area is too, as they were enjoying themselves in the video and were also trying to stay cool during the warm temperatures Texas gets in June.
The Armadillos Were Playing in the Mud
As seen in the video below, the armadillos were playing in the mud to stay cool. It’s not common to see 4 siblings all playing together like this which makes this video extra special. It’s amazing what you can see when you put the screen down and get outside.

Here is a look at those armadillos trying to beat the Texas heat by taking a little mud bath and trying to stay in the shade as much as possible. Such a fun video to watch!
