A Tyler third grade class recently wrote letters to World War II veterans for their trip to Washington, D.C.  The trip is coming up this weekend and my grandfather will be traveling with a group of about 40 veterans visiting some of the most sacred memorials in our nations capital.

For the past 30 years Longview ISD has honored veterans and active military members with a special ceremony and the tradition will continue Saturday evening with a special event at Lobo Stadium. The event will feature marching band along with a fireworks show.

Bullard will be hosting the Red White & Blue Festival on Saturday (November 3rd) to raise money to support veterans. The festival will begin with a parade and will have carnival rides, bounce houses, games, live entertainment, a car show and conclude with a concert and the best part is it's free to the public!

I don't normally watch the news, but the other night I happened to have it on and I caught this story on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and I thought this was pretty cool.
