God bless the United States of America. There's 50 of 'em. Each having their own unique contribution to the melting pot that is our great nation. But let's be real about something here, folks. Unlike all men, which our nation's Constitution declares to be created equal, not all states are created equal...

It's been a long tough road to get where they are and they're just a couple of steps away from playing for the state championship in Arlington in a couple of weeks. This weekend several East Texas high school football teams are looking for another win so they can advance on to state and achieve that final win and the title too!

Their eyes have been set on achieving the state championship since back in August with two-a-day practice and now several East Texas high school football teams are a few steps away from achieving their goal and dream! The state quarterfinals games will be Friday night and there are quite a few East Texas teams still on the road to state.

It's quite impressive to see the number of East Texas high school football teams that will be taking the field this Friday or Saturday to play in the regional semifinal games.

The road to state is slowly narrowing with several East Texas teams still in the hunt for that state trophy!

At high school football games tonight during the National Anthem, all the players will be standing, right?  Just as they always have.  There's just a little more attention on it now, since a handful of NFL players have gotten away from that. And there's new fallout for the guy who started it.

At least for now.  The Texans never get the attention that the Cowboys soak in, but after Week 1, Houston is the better Texas team.

First and foremost, the number on the jersey should match the body type, according to the experts.  Petite J.J. Watt fans might argue with this, but if you're going to wear #99, it's going to look best on a big burly guy.  Agree?

It's just five yards, but it might have a big impact on Cowboy and Texan NFL games this fall. It's a little rule change that some coaches are saying might make the game more dangerous.

It's almost practice time for college football teams, and the first game is only about six weeks away.  Finally!  We've all been having football withdrawals. We rarely see the day-to-day, behind the scenes work that the players put in, but we've got a glimpse of the Aggies' workout facility here.  It's been named one of the Top 10 in the country.

Sometimes things are just meant to be.  The stars line up, circumstances fall into place, and life works out perfectly. On that note, in this silly little trash-talkin' blog, see why the Panthers don't have a chance this Sunday!
