Anderson County Temporarily Drops Burn Ban
Anderson County Judge Robert Johnston has announced that the county has temporarily lifted the burn ban.  The judge's office says he feels like the county has received enough moisture lately to let people burn trash that has been stockpiling during the drought.  Parts of Anderson County received just under an inch of rain with this weekend's storms. Several other smaller communities across East Texas have already done it, and now bigger cities like the City of Tyler are asking for voluntary step one drought contingency measures.  With the recent news reports that the drought will last several more months, if not years, these measures are a good way to conserve water before mandatory restrictions are needed.
