Hospitals can't run out of blood, and there are worries that things may be getting to the point. And, what happens to your blood after it's donated?

Because of coronavirus, hundreds of blood drives have been canceled and that is creating a serious blood shortage. They need for us to donate now. And here's a twist. The blood of coronavirus survivors may help treat others.

When you give blood, you're giving the gift of life. There is no substitute for human blood. And when a patient’s life is on the line, blood must be on hand.

In the aftermath of chaos and lives lost in Dallas recently, Carter BloodCare is grateful to loyal blood donors who made sure the blood center could supply local hospitals with blood products required to treat police officers and civilians, injured during an ambush following a protest march.

We've teamed up with Carter BloodCare for the annual Call to Arms Blood Drive. We are encouraging East Texans to roll up their sleeves beginning Monday, Jan. 5 and give that pint of blood to help replenish the blood supply for East Texas hospitals. Each pint of blood can help save up to three lives here in East Texas.

Mix 93-1, Classic Rock 96-1, 101.5 KNUE and Hot 107-3 Jamz are teaming up with Carter BloodCare of East Texas for the annual 'Call To Arms' Blood Drive on Jan. 6-12 to help raise the blood supply levels here in East Texas and to help save the lives of East Texans too. Every pint of blood that is donated can help save up to three lives.
