The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers stayed hot in the National League, while the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers bashed their way to American League division leads. Here’s what’s happening in Major League Baseball:

We’ve pulled off some impressive examples of multitasking ourselves. (You should see us type and eat at the same time.) But this dad, who catches a foul ball during a game between the Giants and the Pirates while simultaneously holding his daughter, puts us to shame. Oh, and did we mention that he catches the ball one-handed? He must be some sort of super dad!

Check out this video of 17-year-old Trent Williams at Monday night's (April 9) Texas Rangers game against the Seattle Mariners. He makes an impressive catch of a Josh Hamilton home run ball on the home run green at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. What he does after the catch is not as impressive, but it is funny as hell.

With baseball season now in full swing, you'll probably hear, "Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks," at some point this summer. But, what if you COULDN'T buy those peanuts?

I'm still get a little numb feeling when I think back on Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. I was in Rangers Ballpark just a few nights earlier for Game 4. Derek Holland will be in a Texas Rangers uniform for at least the next five years. The Texas Rangers announced today that they signed the left hander to a five-year deal with club options for two additional seasons. The deal begins this season and means he will stay in a Rangers uniform at least through the 2016 season.

I saw this guy speak last year at the Texas Rangers Fanfest and thought it was pretty interesting. I never knew there was a special kind of mud that was rubbed on the balls prior to the game.  He also answered the question of how many baseballs do they go through during a typical game. As a baseball fan it was something I had often wondered.

Yesterday (February 22nd) Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland took some time out of spring training to shoot a television commercial for the Rangers. The commercial will debut in mid-March.

The Associated Press is reporting that the Houston Astros are considering a name change and also a uniform change when the team switches from the National League to the American League in the 2013 season.

After weeks of speculation, CBS Sports is reporting that starting pitcher Yu Darvish will sign a six-year contract with the Texas Rangers before today's 4 p.m. deadline. Sources tell CBS Sports the deal is likely to be for more than $52 million.

The Texas Rangers have announced the plans for their 2012 Winter Caravan, and it includes at least one stop in East Texas!
