We've got an unfortunate development in the death of Survivor singer Jimi Jamison. The musician passed away in his home on Sept. 1, but we've only now gotten the results of Jamison's autopsy. Though it was initially believed that Jamison passed away from a heart attack, it has now been revealed that methamphetamine use combined with a stroke was also a factor in Jamison's cause of death.

Jamison joined Survivor after they released their monster single ‘Eye of the Tiger,’ but was the singer for big hits like ‘I Can’t Hold Back,’ ‘The Search Is Over,’ ‘High on You’ and ‘Burning Heart’ (from ‘Rocky IV’). He also sang and co-wrote “I’m Always Here,’ better known as the theme from ‘Baywatch.’ Jamison also was the singer in the bands Target and Cobra while contributing vocals for multiple tracks by Krokus.

According to WMC Action News 5, "An autopsy report confirmed the singer had cardiovascular disease, which led to a 90 percent blockage of each coronary artery. However, the report also noted that Jamison died of 'hemorrhagic stroke of the brain with acute methamphetamine intoxication contributing.' The coroner ruled Jamison's death as an accident.

“The entire Survivor family is very shocked and saddened by the passing of our brother Jimi Jamison," the band wrote soon after Jamison's death. "Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Jamison is survived by three children and one grandchild. The vocalist was also actively involved in charity work, supporting causes such as St. Jude's and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Once again, we'd like to send our best wishes to the family and friends of Jimi Jamison during this difficult time.
