Tortillas Lead To $1.2 Billion For Popular Texas Food Company
I love it when hard working Texans have their strong work ethic turn into real success. That is the case with one Texas based food company, Siete Foods who was just acquired by PepsiCo for $1.2 billion dollars.
According to MySanAntonio, Siete Foods first started their food journey wanting to create almond flour tortillas, this was due to dealing with an autoimmune disease.
When Was Siete Foods Created?
It started back in 2014 when co-founder Veronica Garza who was studying for her MBA at the University of Texas also started working on the food brand. In just 10 years the project has done better than anyone expected as it grew to the largest private, independently owned Hispanic snack brand in the U.S.
The Brand is Everywhere Now
The products have continued to grow in recent years as there are now more than 80 products available and they can be found in H-E-B, Costco, Walmart and Whole Foods. And not just in the United States as they have grown to Mexico and Canada as well.
They even added celebrity Eva Longoria as a spokesperson.
Donation After Getting the Money
After the deal was done, Siete Foods decided to award $300,000 in grants to Latino businesses through their Juntos (together) fund. Hoping to assist other Latino entrepreneurs.
The transaction should be finalized in the first six months of 2025.
Congrats to the owners and creators of Siete Foods, what started only 10 years ago has turned into a billion-dollar brand. That is amazing, they should be very proud of what they created.
